They meet at the old Fire Hall at 7:00 PM on the Fist Monday of each month, unless otherwise posted.

You may view the proposed Agenda (in PDF Format) by clicking HERE. (Thank you David for the suggestion). We can’t promise you that the Agenda will always be available online but we will try to make it available to you every month.

If you have concerns or need to have your voice heard, please attend. It’s wise to attend these meetings so you can speak up in the event of changes in the codes or other items that affect the town (and you) in general.

Hope to see you there.

Garbage Collection Update (Final)

Just received an email from Louise L. (a reliable source).  Thank you Louise.

Here is what she had to say on Garbage Collection:

“I talked with Waste Management yesterday and they will come on Monday, March 5, with the recycling bins, and at that time they will pickup recycling that is left out in cardboard cartons (such as cans or plastic bottles, or left flat on the ground (as in broken up cardboard or tied bundles of newspapers) at whatever spot the customer has their garbage can set out for emptying.”

Waste Management Pick Up Days?

The new Waste Management Schedule for garbage hauling will be Monday’s with the first pick up to be on March 5, 2012.

Recycle will be picked up on alternating Monday’s but as of this moment we have not heard when the recycle pick up begins.

If anybody has word, please let us know.

Thanks. :-P

Edited 4:00pm 02.28.12

Unofficial word:  Regular trash pick up is Monday the 5th of March and starting the FOLLOWING Monday, trash and recycle pick up.  Recycle pick up is every other week after that.  Again, it’s unofficial so we’ll find out this coming Monday I guess.

U.S. 2 safety group wants highway’s cities to pitch in for lobbying costs | HeraldNet.com – Local news

A coalition that seeks highway safety fixes says it should have help with paying for lobbying efforts.

By Alejandro Dominguez, Herald Writer

For each of the past three years, the U.S. 2 Safety Coalition has spent $3,000 in donations to pay for lobbying in Olympia. Most of its budget is spent on efforts to persuade policymakers to fund transportation projects on the highway.

Now, the nonprofit is asking cities to foot part of the bill.

Asking them is fair because the coalition has…….

111 DUI deaths in county in 5 years; here’s where they happened | HeraldNet.com – Need to Know

Don’t drink and drive. The newest generation of drivers was raised on this mantra. Yet impaired drivers bloat the county jail. In Snohomish County, drinking and driving is one of the most common crimes. It also claims the most lives.

Impaired driving is the leading cause of traffic deaths in the state, according to the Washington Traffic Safety Commission. Drugs or alcohol play a part in half of all fatal wrecks in Snohomish County.

Between 2005 and 2009,……..

More Flooding Info From David Cameron

Ed,
At this point the problem primarily is with the Snoqualmie system, which has had minor flooding predicted from the town on down the valley past Duvall. More swiftly is the Pilchuck, which has risen sharply about five feet during the day and is at a Phase 3 flood. Mt. Pilchuck, and the Sultan Basin have been taking water, while the South Fork Stilly is moving up more slowly. We’re a couple of feet shy of the official Phase 2, which due to the need to recalibrate the gauge/flood stage level still leaves the river within the bank along Avenue A.
On the other hand, the temperature finally has started to rise, up a degree since my regular reading time of 1600 to 41.2 at the moment. I had 2.5″ in the backyard rain gauge between 1600 yesterday and 1600 today.
