Block Watch Series: Part 8 of 15

We are jumping from Halloween Safety to Holiday Safety.

Halloween is not really a holiday so Part 8 in the series deals with Holiday’s in general.

I don’t know if I missed it or not, but I could not find anything in this document that talked about Drunk Driving or Drunk Drivers, which surprised me a bit.

All in all it’s worth the read.  It will only take a moment.  Download Holiday Safety Tips HERE.

Block Watch Series: Part 7 of 15

We’re close to 1/2 way through our Block Watch Series and Part 7 is just in time.

This part deals with Halloween Safety and may be downloaded HERE.

Block Watch Series: Part 6 of 15

Quick.  What’s the number for 911?

We’ve all heard that piece of humor at one time or another in our lives.

Part 6 of the Block Watch Series deals with calling 911.  It is more or less a one page refresher course of the do and don’t of making this emergency (and some time non-emergency) call.

Download When Calling 911 HERE.

Block Watch Series: Part 5 of 15

Part 5 of 15 in the Block Watch Series deals with Identification.

Operation Identification, or Operation ID, is a burglary prevention program for use in homes and businesses. Operation ID traditionally involved marking property with a Driver’s License number to identify property and discourage burglary and theft. This process is time consuming and discourages many well intentioned participants. However, Operation ID has evolved with a new technology for easier completion.

Part 5 may be downloaded HERE.

Block Watch Series: Part 4 of 15

The focal point of Part Four in this series of 15, focuses on Pedestrian Safety.

Block Watch Series: Part 3 of 15

Part 3 of our 15 part series for Block Watch is about something that is dear to most of us, CHILD SAFETY.

In today’s world, we just seem to have more and more problems controlling our children and keeping a close eye on them.  Kids are fast and if you blink your eyes, all the monitoring in the world won’t help them but, this section just may give you some information on what you can do to improve your monitoring skills.

Block Watch Series: Part 2 of 15

Welcome to Part 2 of our Block Watch Series.

Now that you’ve read part one and you got your fingers wet, it’s time to think of YOU.

Part 2 deals with Personal Safety and pay be downloaded HERE.

Block Watch Series: Part 1 of 15

We start off our series of PDF’s for Neighborhood / Block Watch information with an important piece of information.

Neighborhood Watch Guidelines which may be downloaded HERE.

Block Watch Series Coming Soon

Beginning Monday, September 13, 2010, IndexWa.org will be putting up some files for download in PDF format.

The files will be a 15 week series of Neighborhood Watch, Block Watch, Town Watch, Crime Watch (or whatever you want to call it), preparation and information. It is mainly pointed to those that have a block watch system in place, are considering a block watch system and also for those that want or need information about how to prevent break-ins, robberies and thefts at your home or business. It’s pretty much NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS if you will. A Neighborhood Watch brings residents and law enforcement together to improve safety and prevent crime.

As we all know, Crime prevention occurs when the opportunity for crime is removed and neighbors work together for a safer neighborhood.

IndexWa.org would like to thank Sgt. Robert Martin for taking the time out of his very busy schedule to send these documents to us and for taking the time to be at our Block Watch meetings as well as the Town Council Meetings.

Thank you Sgt. Martin. You serve the public well, above and beyond the call of your regular duties.
