If you have noticed, our donation goal for 2012 is a bit aggressive. NO, it has nothing to do with greed. All of our donors may be rest assured that YOUR donations go to the bills we pay and software we need to continue running indexwa.org. The year 2013 will be even more aggressive and then we can curtail after 2013.
That said, the reason for being so aggressive for the next two years is: our computer is on its last leg so to speak. Oh, it runs great but has been in use for 6 years but we know the CPU will give up soon (from experience we know this).
Are we asking you to buy us a new computer? Indirectly, yes. We use our computer 85% of the time to run our site, blog and forums. Our computer runs 18-20 hours a day and some time 24 hours a day. We just lost our good monitor ($265.00) after 3 years of use so we are back on our old monitor which requires a squinty eye to work.
To view our current computer / cpu configuration, click HERE. Our goal is to double everything you see. We calculate around $1,600.00 to do it correctly. (We order parts piece by piece to make sure we are getting what we want and what we pay for).
Our cameras are costly too however, since it’s our hobby, we never ask for donations for our camera equipment even though 99.9% of the photos on our site and blog come out of one of our best cameras. We even shoot photos events for non-profits or the fire department or what have you, no charge. We always try to give back to the community.
Donators have extra features in our forums too. We have a Donor Group, VIP Group and a VIP+ Group. The VIP+ Group requires something special from a Donor, but we keep that a secret. You’ll know what that secret is once you are in the VIP+ Group. It varies from user to user.

This is a must sign PLEASE. If SOPA passes, the USA will no longer be a leader in the Internet War. http://fightforthefuture.org/.
Please sign this. I did and have not yet been spammed. Click on the Email congressman if you don’t want to call. The letter is ready to go.
Don’t be afraid to leave your honest information, otherwise the letter is not valid.
Thanks for supporting this.
Thanks to everybody who made this possible. We achieved over 4,000,000 hits this year.
Looking back to 2007 we had 200,000 hits for the year and it grew a bit in the following years but this year exploded!
Thanks again and if you’d like to see the stats, click HERE.
Happy New Year.
Ed & Dottie
Wishing you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving. We hope you can have time with your family and friends.
In this negative world and economy, please give thanks for what you do have, especially for our soldiers in harms way. Pray that they come home safely.
We are thankful for you, our readers and site visitors for being a part of our lives.

Come join us in our latest poll: What Kind of Summer Did You Have (or are you having)?
You’ll find the poll HERE.
It appears that our Newsletters and News As it Happens are all bouncing back to us from AOL.
If you are a subscriber and your ISP is AOL, please check your spam filters or let AOL know that indexwa.org is not a spammer.
The only other measure we have is to delete AOL subscribers. Other, much larger newsletter databases have the same issue, such as Randy Cassingham’s This is True.
If our newsletter was hurting us financially, we’d step in for you however, it’s a free newsletter so we are leaving this up to you, our readers.
Thanks and we are sorry for the issue(s) you are having.
Today, IndexWa.org celebrates its 4th Anniversary. Who would ever have thought that a small town site would register 2.8 million hits in the 1st half of this year?
Our gratitudes go out to all of our supporters and travelers who come to visit our Small Town – Big Site. Vox populi! The voice of the people.
Thank you.
*On a side note, on July 28th, 2011 our forums celebrated their first anniversary.
The Town of Index annual Newsletter and Consumer Confidence Report has been posted to the website.
The link is HERE.
Many thanks goes out to Lisa this year. She was kind enough to email it to us and we converted it to a PDF. Normally, we have been scanning them in for you but this saved us some work.
We have something new for you to view if you are interested.
We have made our Web Log Report available so you can see how much traffic we REALLY get. Most folks don’t believe us, but here it is.
Web Log Report – Jan 27, 2011 Through Jun 30, 2011.
It’s not something that we normally share. Comments are welcome.
We post in both the Blog and our Forums but we do not CROSSPOST. So there is information on events and important items as well as general chatter in our forums.
Check them out today. http://www.indexwa.org/forum or click HERE.
We look forward to seeing you there.
