Wow I ended up seeing this a little too late. I used to live in Index for a while. I love it there. I will always consider it home. Kaiya always hung out there in front of the house i lived at on Ave A. My cat Smeagol and she would hang out there laying in the middle of the road... It took about 2 months for Kaiya to open up to me. Much love to kaiya. May she wander Index happily for many moons.

Man do I miss Index and these views! There is nothing remotely close in St. Louis (although they claim there is) but I was recently awestruck by the mountains in Tennessee on my way to Atlanta, GA where I am now.
"I'll be back"!

Hello Everyone,
I felt I needed to say something regarding Kaiya. I'm sadden by the loss of her.
I've been Index many times and have seen this ole girl. I've given her many treats even though I knew they may not be good for her.
I can tell you I will miss her as she was the dog I would see checking out her stomping grounds around town.
She would see/hear my truck when I would be around and knew she would get something from me.
Even though she may have had some loss of hearing she knew those that cared for her.
Many of you tended to her even some were never able to pet and love on her.
She now is in a better place where she will be healthy, warm, and never worry about food again.
This is a sad time and Kaiya will always be remembered and in my heart.

A grateful thanks from my wife Sue and I. We had a great time showing our craft. The people that stopped by our booth were so very friendly. What a great town out little town of Index is! Can't wait till next year!
PS Savana Page did a great job selling her lemon aid and raising some money for her school, and the best lemon aid I ever had!

Thanks for the great photos, Ed. Your coverage of this wonderful event is much appreciated as is the immense work on the part of those who organized and carried it to success in such heat/wind-stressed conditions.

Thanks to everyone for putting in the time and effort every year to make this such a wonderful event. The mix of people, various crafts and music always makes this a wonderful time for myself and my family. Every year this event reinforces why we diced to build in this area and eventually retire here. Thanks again!

I have not been able to stay cool. But my kids have been applying ice packs and wet towels to my labrador. Guess they figure Dad will get by on his own. The only way I am going to get cool is to come up there tonight and spend the weekend on my river property.
